Kanye recently promised to drop a new track off Dark Twisted Fantasy and Watch the Throne, his five-track collaboration album with Jay-Z, every Friday until Christmas. One week in and he’s followed through with the 6-minute rap epic that features Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z, Rick Ross, and Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon (one of these things is not like the other…)
So this was random. Their number one? Aphex Twin‘s “Come to Daddy”. There are some interesting choices here, but the real crime is Sinead O’Connor stuck back at number 22. How “Nothing Compares 2 U” (probably one of the best recorded cover songs in recent memory, that is still influential today – see Janelle Monae‘s “Cold War”) didn’t make the Top 10 is beyond me.
